“No more balls.
Nobody wants to see this message on the payment terminal at the Driving Range. However, it is actually fantastic news for both golf clubs and players.
We call it Intelligent BallGuard™
The new function connects to the existing ball counter in the machine, and monitors whether the correct number of balls is dispensed with every ball draw. If this does not happen – for example, if the vending machine has run out of balls, or there is a machine breakdown, a series of functions are initiated:
- The ongoing payment will be immediately refunded to the player.
- The player is informed on the screen that no money has been debited from the card
- The machine is closed with the message in the picture.
- The club will be advised by SMS or email that the vending machine is closed due to the above.
The functionality has just undergone its final tests with us, and is very soon ready to be delivered to the first customers.
Note that the function requires a (typically newer) machine with a ball counter (where the balls are delivered individually on a conveyor belt), and will not work on older machines that tip out a number of balls at a time. The first machines from Sellschopp, Range Master, Range Partner And Oxland are certified for use with this function. If you have a machine of a different make or model, the system can be supplied with an agreement that installation will be on a trial basis, and that adjustments may be necessary.
The price of Intelligent BallGuard™ 249 euros / 1,860 Danish krone, but comes with free for all new installations in 2026.
All existing customers are offered this feature free of charge. (Travel and 1 hour's labour will be added)
